Individual Somatic Counseling
I offer individual body-psychotherapy counseling sessions for people looking for support in identifying and interrupting patterns in order to live with more joy, freedom and aliveness. My approach is a combination of somatic psychotherapy and spiritual development.
Each experience we encounter in life affects our entire being on all 5 levels: mental, emotional, physical, will and spiritual. This is why traditional talk therapy can only get us so far - we need to take the body into account when exploring our deepest patterns and belief systems. From pre-natal to around six years of age, our view of the world - our belief systems - form and remain intact shaping our adult realities. This means we are still living from the belief systems we formed when we were young - and they may need to be updated! The challenge is that these patterns live in our body as chronic patterns of holding, preserved in our muscles and connective tissue. In session, we explore together how these patterns manifest for you on all 5 levels of being. As we begin to bring awareness to our unconscious ways of being and learn to work with the body and our emotional energy, we slowly begin to integrate our experience on all 5 levels which allows us more capacity to experience deeper authentic connection, creativity and pleasure.

I offer 1:1 sessions in Seattle and virtually. I recommend weekly sessions for at least the first 3 months. Every session looks different depending on what you would like to work on. We will explore this through talking, movement, physical and vocal expression, touch, mindfulness and more.

There are many kinds of somatic therapy modalities available to us including you Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Sensori-Motor, Hakomi, Alchemical Alignment, and others. My training is in Core Energetics. While all of these approaches are body-based, Core Energetics is attachment based. To read a longer overview of the different kinds of somatic therapies click here.

Nothing within us is ultimately unacceptable. It just is, whatever it is. The most important work we do on ourselves is to align our attitude with honest and compassionate self observation.
